The bees were handed plastic. They finished the cups.

Bombus impatiens colonies readily used complete 3D-printed honeypots and turned three kinds of partial artificial vessels into working honey stores. Bees alternated on the same build, worked on several at once, and dismantled or reassigned material while reshaping them. The observed flexibility is clear; what individual rules or shared decisions organize that repair work is still unresolved.
