Prerelease notice · August 7, 2026

Privacy, in plain language.

Nogical collects only what the prerelease feature needs, keeps it private by default and does not sell contributor information.

Contributor privacy

What Nogical remembers

Enough to identify a writer, review their work and maintain an editorial rights record. No advertising profile.

What is saved

Nogical saves the basic name and verified email supplied by Google sign-in, your byline, submission, disclosures, consent versions, timestamps and editorial status. We do not request Gmail, Drive, a home address, phone number, diagnosis or government identification.

Why it is saved

The information is used to authenticate contributors, review and discuss drafts, attribute accepted work, keep an editorial and rights record, prevent abuse and operate the contributor program.

What Nogical will not do

Contributor information will not be sold or used to build an advertising profile. A public privacy contact, final retention schedule and attorney-reviewed privacy policy must be added before the contributor program leaves preview.

Google sign-in

Nogical requests only OpenID, basic profile name and verified email. It does not request Gmail, Drive or offline access, and it does not store Google access or refresh tokens.

One Nogical identity

Claim Your Space stores your chosen public display name and unique handle against your private verified Google account. That identity follows forum posts, replies, comments and contributor access so forms do not keep asking for a name. Your Google profile name is not made public unless you deliberately choose it.

Community conversations

Forum threads, replies, comments, your display name, handle and any Founding Member distinction are public. Your verified email, stable Google identifier, reports and moderation records stay private. Nogical keeps posting timestamps, account status and rule acceptance so conversations can be moderated and protected from abuse.

Visual Editions

Anonymous Edition choices stay on that browser when storage is available. A claimed member’s Edition preference is also saved to their Nogical profile so it can return on another device. Nogical does not use that sensory preference for advertising or profiling.

Founding Members

The first 100 genuine claimed profiles receive a permanent honorary number. It is public beside the member’s chosen identity, is never recycled and grants no moderation, publishing, contributor-review or administrator permission.

Service providers

Google authenticates contributors. Cloudflare hosts Nogical and its private submission database. Those providers process data only as needed to supply their services under their own terms.

Choices

Signing in alone does not create a public profile or publish anything; claiming a space deliberately creates the public name and handle you choose. Do not submit sensitive personal information. A working withdrawal process is included in the contributor agreement; a final privacy-request contact must be published before the program opens.
