File / 18 · Identity under abrasion
Someone erased the name. The scar kept it.

Archaeologists at Uşaklı Höyük recovered a stone stamp seal whose Anatolian inscription had been deliberately abraded, yet surviving traces allowed specialists to read the name beneath the damage. The erasure was probably an attack on identity or authority, but that motive — and the site's identification as ancient Zippalanda — remain interpretations rather than settled facts.
