File / 13 · Gone instantly / still correlated
Two particles vanished. Their agreement remained.

ATLAS researchers reconstructed the decay angles left by pairs of Z bosons produced through Higgs decay and found strong evidence that the fleeting particles were quantum-entangled. The particles themselves vanished almost immediately; the correlation survived in their decay products. This is evidence for entanglement at extreme energies, not a message passing between particles or proof that quantum theory is complete.
